Why I Wrote The Return Of Reggie The Red

Courage To Do The Right Thing

I love to tell a good, fun story. The characters make you laugh! In my opinion, we need a bit more laughter in the world. Come on, in the back of your mind, didn’t you wonder what happened to Reggie the Red, Hunter Eagle, and Chuck Rooster after their last encounter?  I did! Once they came alive in our thoughts, we were left with too many questions about the characters.

You wanted more, and I wanted more. And let's be honest, you know you love the character Reggie the Red and his naughty ways. You couldn’t wait to see what he would get into next? He was just so naughty! Also, Hunter Eagle, everybody loves a hero, especially when they come from nowhere and discover who they are on the inside. He is the adventurous, courageous side of us all!  He is youth and vitality! And who wouldn’t love a dad like Chuck Rooster? He was the protector of the family and the whole barnyard. He is wise and knowledgeable; what character and leadership to be admired!

When you read the story “The Aerie,” most of us can identify with the characters in the story in some way. If not, we know someone who is like the characters in the story of “The Aerie.” We can identify with what it is like feeling like we don’t belong in our family, school, or community. We have all been there. Some of us are there now, searching to find who we are and our purpose.  Discovering ourselves takes courage, especially when our surroundings are not favorable toward us. It takes courage to be yourself once you have found yourself and to be yourself every day. Read the book and discover yourself.

There is a life far higher than that of the barnyard. The story of “The Return of Reggie the Red” depicts that world and its happenings.  The story tells of that life and that which lies beyond it. I will see you in the story! Be Courageous!
