About two years ago, I started working on journeying notes about the struggles of life as a Disciple of Christ. Day by day, as I wrote and observed, the effort to remain focus was a constant reminder of this very struggle. I begin searching the Holy Scriptures in support of our fight in Christ. When I first started writing my latest book, I had no idea that it would be so timely for where we are today during this Coronavirus-19 Pandemic. My whole focus two years ago while writing my latest book was to make myself available to receive the information and instructions from the Lord. The guidelines would entail publishing a book to encourage saints and those struggling in their faith by helping them not to give up. Nevertheless, it is clear to me that God knows everything and sees everything, including our future.
I have a saying about struggles. They are real, and they cause many heartaches and disappointments. However, the negative results that comes from the efforts that struggles brings is one sided. On the one hand, there is the positive fruit of righteousness and victory. Oh, how sweet that victory is to us who are founded and rooted in the Rock and Anchor of our soul, Jesus Christ. Celebrating what Christ has done for us on the Cross will continue regardless of where we are as a group of people. I am reminded of a children's song, which says, " He's got the whole world in His Hand." On this Good Friday, think about what Christ did for us. I went back, again and again, reading the account of how Jesus agonized over us in The Garden of Gethsemane, when He faces the "Religious Establishment." After He was whipped and beaten for us, He was thrown into a place waiting for execution by being nailed to a cross for us. He was without sin. Yet He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him. And with His stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5 KJV).
Jesus understands our plight as we wait in this dark hour of death. He sweated drops of blood in The Garden while He prayed and waited on God, The Father, for us. Hebrews 4:15 says, "For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." He knows, and He cares for us. As we wait on the Lord during this Good Friday and later celebrating Resurrection Sunday/Easter Sunday, we have the victory in Christ Jesus. For those who know Christ and are born of His Spirit, remember, the Resurrected Christ lives within our hearts, and we have fellowship with Him where ever we are. Social distancing cannot keep up apart because we are not a physical building. But we are the spiritual body of Christ all over the world and unstoppable! We are One Body, One Spirit, and One Hope.
Ephesians 4:4-6 says, There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling. One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (KJV)
We shall go through for a while, but our victory will be sweeter than what we have endured. We shall rise and live better than what we were before we entered this valley. Why? Because Jesus Christ of Nazarene has already done it for us, victory!
The Victory is Real! And it is Sweet! O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. ( 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 KJV).
